Email lists provide a better option for cold calling first. By managing your email list properly, you can filter it for marketing prospects who have the best chance of creating sales down the road.

Trigger Responses from Email Lists

Having an email list is one thing, generating marketing leads from that list is another. Until you start engaging your audience and find ways to generate marketing leads, they will remain a name on the list. Here are some ways to trigger responses from your email marketing list to generate marketing leads:

Create Reports – Just as you wouldn’t talk to a stranger, people won’t naturally engage in email requests until they know you a little. You can encourage that process by using social media to get to know your audience on a more personal level. You can also involve them in everyday matters, such as constant companions.

Get Controversial – People do have specific triggers that will make them read or open emails. Controversial headlines tend to get more reading, but can be hard to write without being offensive. If you can find a way to engage your list with controversial, passionate topics, you’ll get just as avid readers.

Their Psyche – Some of the emotional and mental triggers that work to engage an email list are things most people don’t even realize are active in their psyches. For example, a status trigger causes a high earning list to be purchased, even if there is no reason for it. Feelings of alienation or loneliness can be triggered to produce a response in those who relate to those feelings (Source:promarketingleads.net/).

Offer Solutions – Once you’ve established rapport and figured out how to draw your audience out, you can offer solutions in their life to make their life easier or more entertaining. You have set the stage for it when you choose a topic for your email using certain trigger points. At that point, they will trust you as a friend, or at least someone who thinks the same way, who can help them deal with day-to-day problems.
