If you’re anything like me, then your body probably needs some sleep. Lots. Every day. In 2015, the National Sleep Foundation released a new study that changed the previously recommended sleep duration.

Now 7 to 9 hours for young adults (18-25 years), 7 to 9 hours for adults (26-64 years), and 7 to 8 hours for older adults (65+ years). However, a Gallup poll from 2018 revealed that 40% of adults in America get less than the minimum recommended amount of 7 hours of sleep.

The average American reports getting 6.8 hours of sleep. The Gallup poll also showed a 11% decrease in respondents saying they “slept as much as needed” compared to results from the same 1990 poll, and a 11% increase in those who “would feel better with more sleep”. 1990 opinion poll.

Way back in the early 1940s, the majority of people (84%) slept for 7 to 9 hours at night with an average of 7.9 hours. This all serves to illustrate the growing problem that people don’t sleep long enough. If this trend continues, it could have dire health consequences.

Is there a practical, cost-effective solution that exists to solve this?

Sleeping Chair

A solution does exist. Perfectsleepchair.com is a site where you can learn all about the Perfect Sleep Chair. This chair has a power recline and lift, which makes getting out of the chair easier. It also has heat and massage, plus unparalleled craftsmanship and quality.

A sleeper chair is a recliner that doubles as a comfortable chair to sit on and something to relax and rest on. While it is very unusual to sleep especially on an armchair or couch, one would find it a comfortable alternative to a flat bed; especially since the average person today is getting less sleep than previous generations.

There is variation Sleeping chairs are available to accommodate your needs and style. There is:

Mattress –

Although they look like sofas, there are futons that can be opened to become sleeping areas (thanks to Japan).

Sofa bed –

Designed with a soft mattress pillow specifically to sleep on when not used to sit.

Chaise longue –

These seats recline like those in movie theaters and many have additional features such as heating and massage capabilities for added relaxation.

Folding sofa bed –

When you get sleepy after being on the sofa, just pull the mattress frame under the pillow.

Advantages

Sleeping chairs not only come in various sizes and shapes, but also provide additional benefits for their users. First, they’re a great way to save space in one’s home. Instead of having to choose where to put, say a sofa and a spare bed, you can have both on the sofa bed.

Plus, many sleeper chairs are convertible and easier to transport than regular home furniture. They’re built to be flexible and should be highly desired by anyone hoping to save extra space. As mentioned earliermany people do not get enough sleep every night.

Aside from their home décor appeal, sleeper chairs can have many potential health benefits. Some examples include:

  • Some pregnant women find sleeping in a reclining chair easier and more comfortable for them than in bed.
  • People who need to sleep in an elevated, reclined position (people with sleep apnea, degenerative spondylolisthesis, heartburn, and osteoarthritis) report better sleep outcomes when they sleep with a good back.
  • Using an easy chair also helps provide lumbar support and relieves back pain.

Sleeping Chairs For Every Home

There are prototypes of modern daybed chairs dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries. However, they are not very popular, as they lack comfort and aesthetic appeal. But as technology improves, so does the science behind sleeping chairs improve.

A good standard sleeper chair today will have memory foam technology, a nice design, and feature body massage. As people today find themselves sleep deprived, they will want somewhere else to rest. Instead of getting another bed, buying furniture like a sleeper chair will soon become a more common fixture in homes.
