Beach party

One of the things San Diego is proud of is its striking coastline. As its beaches and bays attract both locals and tourists worldwide, it’s no surprise then that waterside parties are becoming popular at New Years in this side of California. Hilton San Diego Bayfront celebrates its 10thth birthday this year and will be hosting the New Year’s Eve Big Night celebration, which you can see.

There’s also the Bahia Resort Hotel, which offers a New Year’s Eve Party Package that includes a one-night stay, a cruise on the Bahia Belle in Mission Bay, a midnight toast, and party favors. If you want to have a fancier celebration, there are also beaches where you can have a picnic, without the big party, and wait for the fireworks display from afar.

Dinner Cruise

If you want to be close to the water but prefer to skip the sand, you can always do so by boarding one of the dinner cruises offered in the area. You can welcome the new year in Mission Bay on the luxurious Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa where you can upgrade your ticket to optional VIP and aboard the 3-floor William D. Evans VIP Party Boat, where you can enjoy a fully equipped casino.

If you want a great entertainment and dining experience while trying your luck, you can always find good ones casino in San Diego. You can also experience a soiree on a $25 million dollar cruise nearly the length of a football field at Vavi’s New Year’s Eve Cruise Party. Now how to start the year off with a bang?

Amusement Parks, Restaurants, and Parades

Who says New Year’s celebrations can’t be a family event? Even kids can welcome the new year in high spirits at some of San Diego’s NYE events. The whole family can watch the ball drop at midnight on the big screen at John’s Incredible Pizza Company where you can also take part in the IncrediBear Horn Parade at midnight. From seven in the evening you can already watch the countdown to the ball drop in the Big Apple with local DJs spinning great tunes in the background at the Corvette Diner.

If the NYC vibe isn’t your cup of tea for the kids, of course there are also fantastic events at Legoland prepared just for them. Here, children can enjoy children’s concerts and count down the new year, just like in the famous Times Square. Even more exciting are the massive LEGO bricks that fell 22 feet into the year 2014 and the dazzling fireworks display that followed.
