Often, we find new location information through friend recommendations, newspaper articles, or Localscope. These, we quickly add to our favorite GTD apps or to-do lists. Taking down reminders is easy, but the problem is; we forget to look at the reminder list when we need it the most!

Localscope promises to help you better remember things you want to do in or around locations. Version 3 introduces integration with the iPhone’s reminder system that allows users to set location-based reminders at any location found with Localscope. Users can choose to be notified by push notifications upon arrival, or departure from a location and even categorize reminders into lists, all this from within Localscope.

In addition to adding reminders, Localscope collects all location-based reminders from the reminders app and serves them as a search and discovery resource in Localscope. This allows the user to visualize the reminder as a location point using Localscope’s 3 unique views and take further actions on the reminder such as navigating to the point using one of the integrated navigation applications.

Localscope can be used to create travel plans by searching for various points of interest on social networks and search engines and adding reminders to them. These itineraries can then be viewed in an ordered list of shortest to furthest distances or plotted on a map in Localscope for easy destination selection or navigation routing during the trip.

Localscope v3 has been completely re-engineered around the new iOS6 to take advantage of its new features such as native sharing integration and native Facebook authentication, and showcases an updated user interface to better match the new iOS 6 design. With v3, Localscope now integrates with the new Apple Maps app by allowing users to open points of interest found on Localscope into the Maps app for turn-by-turn directions or visual exploration using a stunning new 3D flyover view.

Localscope v3 introduces a new look for connected car receiver HUD, simply plug your iPhone into the car receiver and points of interest will be displayed on the on-screen map, allowing drivers to easily view nearby places. This feature is supported for other secondary displays and even works with AppleTV via Airplay.

I hope you enjoy using this version and as always, we’d love to hear from you about Localscope.

The new and updated version of Localscope is now available globally in the Apple AppStore.
