We’ve all had those “Oh my god I’ve been sitting here for three hours and I’ve done nothing but scroll all over the internet and made a special dent in my chair” moments while sitting behind our desks. It’s normal that sometimes we shouldn’t get out of bed, or sleep for an extra 5 minutes, or maybe choose to skip last night’s episode of Grey’s anatomy and go to bed an hour earlier.

However, when you realize that these moments happen every day, then it’s time for some changes. I’ve listed the best ways to maximize your productivity at work. Read them carefully.

1. You can’t plan your life, but you can plan your days

The night or morning before work, make a list of all the tasks you need to complete. You’ll be ready with direction and intent. You no longer need to rush and waste your time and energy – in other words you will also save your nerves.

Later, you can start planning your week, year, and decade. Moreover, planning generates a progressive mindset, and that’s what we’re aiming for.

2. Priority?

We often tend to start our day with all those easy and insignificant tasks because we think it will be easier this way. What happens is that after doing all those unnecessary tasks, we lose most of the energy that we should be putting into our big projects.

Know what your priorities are and always do the harder and more important tasks first! Not only will it be a huge relief, but it will make your day go much smoother.

3. Give yourself a break

Being productive doesn’t mean you have to push yourself beyond your means. You will become irritated, distracted, confused etc., in other words – not productive at all.

Make at least two breaks during your workday when you’re going to go out and catch some fresh airhave a snack, take a walk, etc. don’t look away from your computer and take your phone with you to browse Instagram. You will see that this will definitely maximize your working potential.

4. Stay positive

Yes I know, the most cliche of all clichés. However, people often tend to forget about it positive mental attitude is a very important part of every life situation. It’s that attitude that shapes our perception of the day.

Get up in the morning and remind yourself that you are happy. Convince yourself that you are the luckiest person in the world because you have so much to do today – you will reach your full potential today and be satisfied! Instead of focusing on the problem – focus on the solution. Expect miracles every day and a lot of positive things will happen.

5. Do not waste time

In other words, make sure you eliminate all the time wasters. While you are at work, focus strictly on work. Avoid all gossip, personal phone calls, emails, etc. – all of that can wait until your shift is over. Your business time is very valuable.

6. Forget social media

Did you know that the average person spends more than 3 hours a day socializing online? That’s more than a quarter of our waking hours! Imagine all the things you can do in 3 hours.

Now, it’s best to delete all of your social media apps while at work, but if that’s too much for you, just remove them from your home screen, as well as the toolbar on your computer’s browser. There’s nothing new, or important to you there, and you know it.

7. Multitasking is a myth

Physically, we can’t multitask. Our brains simply switch their attention from one task to another. You may find that you can never “multitask” to a high standard. And not to mention that multitasking doesn’t save time at all – it just takes more time. Focus on one thing at a time – all the time.

8. Cognitive enhancers on the other hand are not

You’ve probably heard of that magic cognitive pill like the Lucid smart pill For example. It is actually a “drug” that improves your memory, creativity and motivation. 9. Use dead time

What do you do when you sit on the bus and go to work? Or while sitting in the doctor’s office and waiting? If your answer is: playing a game on my phone, looking through a window or listening to music; You are wasting valuable time. Instead, you can take some notes, send an email, or plan for the next day. Get in the habit of being productive all the time, not just at work.

10. Avoid conflict

Not everyone you work with is going to be great. You’ll probably hate at least 20% of them, and that’s fine – you’re here to work, not to make BFFs. And here’s the vibe you want to spread – no reason to fight or sweat the small stuff, and no reason to stress about a slow WiFi connection, a slow computer, or an overfilled trash can. Shut up and do what you’re here for – your job.
