Discover the Truth about Computer Glasses and Blue Light

Discover the Truth about Computer Glasses and Blue Light

Do you always cover your mouth when you smile because you are self-conscious about your teeth? Are you afraid to smile in photos? It’s time to treat yourself to orthodontic treatment.

Many adults worry that they will look ridiculous with braces. While this isn’t true (after all, adult braces are more common than ever), you do have another option if you value subtlety: Invisalign treatment.

You’ve probably heard some myths and misconceptions about Invisalign, and we’re here to fix them so you can decide if it’s right for you.

Read on to learn more.

Invisalign Is Always More Expensive Than Braces

This is one myth that comes from the truth, so it makes sense that many people believe it. While Invisalign is often more expensive than metal braces, this isn’t always the case.

When Invisalign started gaining popularity, they were much more expensive than braces. This is a luxury product. Many insurance companies still consider Invisalign to be “aesthetic,” meaning they won’t cover it.

That said, if your problems are minor, Invisalign can be as affordable or more affordable than braces. Talk to your local orthodontist about the cost of their Invisalign treatment.

Invisalign is Completely Invisible

Many people think of Invisalign as “invisible braces.” While it’s true that Invisalign is the least visible form of orthodontic treatment, you can still see it.

The aligners themselves are smooth, but most people will have to get the attachments (which look like brackets). Some had to wear rubber bands. These things are visible, sometimes even in high-quality photos.

However, from a distance, most people won’t notice your aligners.

You Must Change Your Diet During Invisalign Treatment

When you wear traditional metal or ceramic braces, you will have to modify your diet. You shouldn’t eat anything that’s too hard or sticky, or anything that might get caught in the wires.

One of the main benefits of Invisalign aligners is that you can still eat all your favorite foods as long as you remove the aligners first. You remove your aligners from anywhere between two and four hours per day (ask your orthodontist beforehand) so you have plenty of time to eat.

One of our superiors Invisalign tips: keep your aligners in cleaning solution while you eat so they are fresh and ready to use again after the meal is over.

Invisalign Only Works for Simple Cases

Again, this used to be true. At one point, Invisalign was not effective for people with complex orthodontic cases. That said, as technology progresses, this is no longer the case. Invisalign is almost as effective as traditional braces.

With attachments and elastic bands, Invisalign can handle almost anything orthodontic problem. Invisalign treatment times can even be compared to traditional braces treatment times.

Are You Ready to Get Invisalign?

If you know you need orthodontic treatment, Invisalign treatment is a great option. It’s more affordable than ever, effective, and subtle (though not “invisible”).

Speak with a local orthodontist about whether or not Invisalign is a good choice for you.
