I recently got my hands on a copy of Zig Ziglar’s (amazing) book”Better than good”, and I must say that it inspired me right from the first page. Zig Ziglar said, “There are three pillars to a ‘better than good’ life: passion, peak performance, and purpose.”

So true. Then several questions came to my mind – How do we make our life the way we want it to be? How do we make the best of it? I believe the purpose of life is to be happy – and to make other people happy. From what I’ve read and learned, here are some ways on how we can make our lives truly happy.

1). Follow your passion:

Do what you love. Don’t go where the money is, go where your heart is. There will be many occasions in life where you will have to decide what it is you really want to do. Follow that hunch, it will never let you down. If you want to do something really well, passion is very, very important.

2). Spread a smile every day:

If someone you know is going through a hard time, try your best to make them smile. Smiling makes things easier and lifts your spirits. After all, a day without a smile is a day wasted, right?

3). positive attitude:

Positivity goes a long way in life. Why waste precious seconds of your life worrying too much? Remove all those negative thoughts from your mind. Don’t think that you are less than others. Keep your chin up, fight the bad feelings, stay strong and be positive!

4). Good deeds:

In today’s world, we attach great importance to material things. We buy expensive gadgets, luxury goods etc. We must not forget about the less fortunate. Remember, charity begins at home, but it must not end there. Do your part, make a change. Every little bit makes a difference. Give!

5). Value relationship:

Life is short. Spend lots of time with your loved ones. Don’t get so involved in work that you start spending less time with your family. Family comes first. Cherish every moment with loved ones.

6). Keep well :

Ponder. Eat good food. A healthy body equals a healthy soul and a healthy mind. A calm body, mind and spirit can help you live a happy life.

7). Keep in touch with people who lift you higher:

Don’t constantly be around people who only speak negatively. They will only bring you down. Try to stay around positive people who radiate good thoughts. Being around positive people will bring a spark to your life!

8). Fast :

Humans have a strong desire to love and feel loved. Express all your feelings. Don’t keep it inside you too long. Be yourself. Live out loud!

9). Don’t compare:

Comparing only brings sadness. “Why don’t I look like him?” “Why am I not rich like him?” etc is not at all good for us. Learn to accept yourself as you are. Work hard to become what you want. Be happy in your own skin. Know that God has made you the way you are for a reason, and that there are people who think you are very special.
