You always hear it: ‘success is a state of mind.” There are those who argue that success is a natural result of proper planning, preparation, and focused action, and that viewpoint is certainly true – but there are also plenty of exceptions to disprove that “rule.” Have you ever wondered- wonder how two people can try the same goal in the same way and only one of them succeed? Is it sheer luck? Timing? Persistence? More often than not, it’s a person’s mindset that determines whether they fail or succeed.
What is a successful state of mind? Usually mindset refers to your main daily state of mind. It is what you think about, focus on, and expect from your everyday experiences. Negative thinking, expecting the worst, feeling pessimistic about your choices and that is what you seem to attract into your life. Likewise, think positive, expect the best and focus on successful results and you will get them often. Makes sense, doesn’t it? But how exactly does it work?
Why is a success mindset so important? There are three big reasons:
1). A success mindset boosts your confidence and self-confidence:
Lack of self-belief is usually accompanied by feelings of helplessness and uselessness, which is the opposite of a success mindset. Lack of self-confidence means that you don’t see the point in trying to be successful because it’s not going to happen anyway. Obviously, this mindset is a recipe for failure in any endeavor.
On the other hand, having a true success mindset means you believe in yourself and your abilities. You believe that you can succeed at almost anything you try, and you are willing to give your best. Better yet, the more you try, the more confidence and self-confidence you build – until you’re truly unstoppable!
2). A success mindset strengthens your resolve:
Without a success mindset, one failure is enough to convince you that pursuing your goals is a waste of time. Tenacity and determination don’t exist in your world. If you don’t become a huge success the first time you try, you suspect that it was not meant to be. Unfortunately, some valuable things come so easily!
A success mindset, however, reinforces your awareness that failure isn’t the end of the story – it’s just one more ploy that doesn’t work out your way. planned. In fact, the true success mindset makes it clear that the only true failure occurs when you stop trying.
3). A success mindset drives useful action:
Have you ever found yourself going in circles because you didn’t know the best way to achieve a certain goal? Maybe you have an idea of the best course of action but you feel intimidated by the multiple action steps required. As a result, you may continue to sabotage your efforts as you search in vain for easier or less daunting ways to achieve your goals.
With a true success mindset, you will always know the most effective action steps that will lead directly to your goals. As discussed, you will also have the confidence and determination to go after it – which is a sure recipe for . . . You guessed it; success!
If I had to sum up how to develop a success mindset into the fewest words possible, I’d say this:
– Go for your dream. – Think positively. – Believe in yourself. – Believe that you can do better. – Learn, grow and develop yourself. – Willing to take chances. – Give it all. – Expect the best in every situation. – Be prepared to fail. – When you fall, get up and try again.
Keep at it and you can’t help but be successful, from the inside out.
