There are many beautiful places in America that you can take your family for fun and adventure (as well as great photo opportunities). Whether you love nature, theme parks, historic sites, or any other type of activity, there’s a place out there that’s perfect for you and your family to explore. The annual family vacation is usually one of the most priceless memories a child experiences, and you want to make sure the location you choose will be one that you and your family will remember forever.
Below, just in case you need a little help making a decision, is a list of photo-perfect family destinations—enjoy them!
Honolulu-Waikiki
Hawaii has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and we’d be remiss not to mention them when talking about the “perfect” destination. In Waikiki, there are beaches and hotels right on the water—sand, surf and sun literally right at your doorstep. But the beach isn’t the only family activity in Waikiki. There are also whale watching boat rides, a zoo, Hawaii cultural tours, the historic International Market Place, and, of course, luaus.
Walt Disney World (and Orlando, Florida in general)
No list of perfect family vacation destinations would be complete without Disney World. In Orlando, Florida, a popular theme park has all the Disney characters, rides, and food you could want. However, if your family is tired of Minnie & Mickey, there are other parks in Orland that you can visit, such as Epcot, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and many more. Orlando provides enough entertainment to keep your family busy from sunrise to sunset.
Ocean City, Maryland
Those who have been to Ocean City will tell you that this vacation destination is where some of their best memories grow. There are ten miles of beaches, as well as nightlife (for older family members), nature, boardwalks, and other attractions that should make Ocean City one of your wish lists.
ColoradoSprings
This destination is more nature oriented, as there are hiking, mountaineering, fishing, skiing, and snowboarding available in Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak is one of the state’s most famous natural landmarks as it is the highest southern peak of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. For those in your family who don’t like nature, Colorado Springs is also known for its spas, especially Broadmoor; there is something for everyone.
Grand Canyon
Located in Arizona, the Grand Canyon was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. It is one of the most famous natural landmarks in the entire world, and one your family will miss at least if they don’t go to check it out. once while on vacation. At the Grand Canyon you can sightsee, explore and hike and guided tours are available. Arizona also has 22 other national parks, so once you’ve all Canyoned you can check them out.
Yellow Stone
Yellowstone National Park is located in Wyoming, although parts of it extend into Idaho and Montana as well and, like the Grand Canyon, it is a well-known natural landmark. Yellowstone has been a park since 1872 and contains geysers (namely the famous Old Faithful), hot springs, forests, canyons and lots of other natural beauty that will blow your mind.
Yosemite
Yosemite National Park is also for nature lovers. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Yosemite is known for its sequoia trees, waterfalls, lakes, and abundant and beautiful natural scenery. Inside Yosemite Village, you’ll find the shop, museum, and gallery of Ansel Adams, named after an American environmentalist and photographer known for his photographs of Yosemite and environmental advocacy.
