For travelers seeking outdoor adventure, like myself, Jamaica is the place to be. With its fantastic underwater world, white sand, cascading waterfalls, exotic plants and animals, there’s so much to do! To give you an idea of what to look forward to, here are some reasons why you should go on a Jamaican vacation.
This is SCUBA diving heaven
Hoping to explore the enchanting world beneath the waves? Look no further. Known as a paradise for divers, Jamaica offers many underwater experiences. Couples Resort has PADI certified instructors who can teach and help you explore the colorful and extraordinary “Shark Reef”, “Coral Garden” and “Fantasy Reef”. If you want to snorkel, sail, windsurf and kayak, the resort also has sports equipment and qualified staff ready to help you.
Many mountains
On the eastern edge of Jamaica lie the Blue Mountains. They form the longest mountain range in the region and feature awe-inspiring views. Many people cycle through the mountains to get a clear view of nature. Several people climbed to the top and reached a height of 7400 feet. There are trails that are flat and some are suitable for those who want to be physically challenging.
You can swim with dolphins
Apart from swimming in the crystal clear ocean, you can escape the warm sand and have fun at Dolphin Cove, Ochos Rios. Founded in 2001, it has become one of the most popular attractions in the country because you can join dolphins, sharks and stingrays in natural seawater – no artificial pools or tanks here! If you don’t think you can keep up with the dolphins, you can snorkel or swim with the stingrays as they are a bit slower.
It’s home to reggae music
Who hasn’t heard of Bob Marley and his reggae legacy? If you are a fan, you should definitely visit his former home and recording studio. You will see his early life, and his musical philosophy. Almost every night, local artists also show their talents in the lively nightclub. You can visit them in one sitting, and while you’re at it, kick your heels and dance to an incredible beat.
Play golf and tennis
If you want to practice your swing even on vacation, Jamaica is an island to consider. Home to some of the best golf courses such as The Manchester Club, Tryall Golf, Tennis & Beach Club; Golf, Tennis Club and Half Moon Beach; and don’t forget the Three Palms Ocean Course at Wyndham Rose Hall Golf and Beach Resort, where the 15th hole was featured in a James Bond film.
rafting
Take a day off from all the adrenaline and get ready to slide down Martha Brae. Rafting on the Martha Brae river is one of the most relaxing yet outdoor things to do. Imagine being surrounded by beautiful trees and wonderful wildlife as you cruise down the 3 mile long river on a handmade bamboo raft. There is nothing to be afraid of either. All rafts were stable, and eighty-five raft captains were licensed. The river is only 4 feet deep, and the exotic birds are harmless. Don’t forget to bring your camera, you’ll be glad to see the pictures later.
