Communication has always been, is and always will be at the heart of the human experience. When people find ways to express themselves and share with one another, they find ways to learn and grow together. Unfortunately, the nature of this physical duality tends to also bring about communicative experiences that lead to disconnection, separation, misunderstanding and conflict. While it’s not always possible to let positivity and optimism win, neutralizing negative vibes is always within reach and can bring down a lot of daily stress.
Learning how to direct negative thoughts where they don’t affect yourself is the first step in building Peace. Here are 4 ways to neutralize negative thinking and help you calm your life.
1 – Release
The art of communication is based on what is heard, what is heard, what is meant and what is received. Listening prevents many moments of conflict because it allows the mind to take time to become aware of the dichotomy between what is said and what is meant. Learn to detach from the words your mind may hear and attach significance to the intentions your heart feels.
2 – Dissolve
Mind is a subtle manifestation of Life. They come and go like a river. While a stream may leave some of its water along the coast, it also allows most of it to continue flowing farther or eventually evaporate into the air. Our thought process is a flow and it is we who control where the substance settles. The greater awareness we bring to the flow and the greater potential we have in dissolving what can remain in our reality and what does not serve us and must be propagated and transformed. We must learn how to let go of what does not nourish our soul so that it has a chance to metamorphose into something that enriches it.
3 – Get rid of it
Negative thoughts, whether they are towards ourselves, directed at others or coming from others, are a way of life to remind us that we have misaligned our Truth and reality. When that happens, then we must be willing to ignore what caused the derailment in the first place. Go to the cause of your negative thinking and ignore the fear associated with it. Instead, bring awareness to the Love that is beyond. Willing to ward off what is not in line with a sense of happiness, a sense of peace and a sense of Love.
4 – Differentiate
While the nature of Life is oneness, our human way of experiencing it is dual and perception becomes a path where the mind can easily stray while searching for the Truth. Learning to distinguish perception from Truth is a powerful way to refocus the moment and escape any negative feelings you may be having. Perception has the potential to lead to negative thinking while Truth never does. The ability to bypass mere perception allows the heart to engage in attracting Truth to the consciousness of the mind and neutralizing negative thoughts by bringing significance to simple, present truths.
