Walk
There’s a reason Europeans gobble up all that bread and pasta and yet have supermodel physiques — their secret is to walk.
While walking may not seem like you’re exerting much effort, you can actually burn as many as 1000 calories in a day depending on how much you walk.
For some incorporate more walking to their day is as simple as choosing to walk to work, or take a walk around the block after dinner.
Drink more water
Did you know that more than 50% of the time you may believe you are hungry when you are actually thirsty? It’s important to understand our body’s cues, and not grab a snack whenever we feel hungry.
Ask yourself when was the last time you ate, how much, and if your hunger really needs more food.
Chances are you just need water. Drink more water it can suppress your appetite, and also hydrate you which is great for your overall health.
If you still feel hungry after eating enough, consider drinking carbonated water. Add lemon or lime zest for a bit of flavor.
Practice Mindful Eating
One of the biggest causes of overeating is eating while doing something at the same time. For example, if you eat while staring at your phone, or the TV, you will likely put things in your mouth mindlessly without even listening to your stomach.
Mindful eating means being aware of every bite, taste and texture. Listen to your body when it tells you you’re full, and focus completely on eating. You’ll find that once you start being fully present at meals, you’ll eat less overall.
Reduce Your Carbohydrates
Eliminating carbohydrates from your diet completely may be a short-term solution for people who want to lose weight fast. However, it is not a sustainable way of life.
Whole grains and high-carbohydrate vegetables are acceptable nutritional choices. You just have to be careful about how much you eat. It’s always best to have more protein and vegetables on your plate than carbohydrates.
That doesn’t mean you have to pull out this scale and weigh the amount of pasta you eat. Be smart and reasonable, and it will make a difference to your waistline!
